Hi all
We are a group of engg students. I alongwith 6-7 friends are planning for a trip to Shimla/Kufri/Narkanda around 14th jan.

As we are on budget Please suggest us dormitory or cheaper but decent staying options at shimla/kufri/narkanda

Also Please suggest us places in and around shimla (apart from tattapani, naldehra, fagu, chail, etc) which we shouldnt miss. We'll spend 2-3 days at shimla and around

Waiting for replies

You can try out YMCA, Shimla behind the Church at the Mall
....life is a journey.....and the journey is more important than the destination........

Not necessary....I have stayed in YMCA Delhi with my family..you can just land up there an enquire. Sometimes online they need such things. seach here by YMCA Shimla and you will get a lot of results. There is an e-mail and a phone no. too...though I have forgotten. you wil find here in INdiamike. I e-mail to them and they replied. you can book.

How much are we talking about for a night at YMCA ? Be interested to know the approx price.

Also. I have been told that if you are from outwith India and stay at hotels that take US dollars one will pay a higher tourist rate but if you go to rupee only charging hotels then a normal rate will apply. Is this true ?

Kind regards

That's Ok Rohan. The indian homestays seem a wonderful way to meet insian families and learn about the culture. They seem to be everywhere in india and quite reasonably priced.
