Beware of Taxi far rates while traveling from Shimla to Delhi by road.

Guys,
Please be aware that the taxi fare from

Shimla to delhi is 1800/- (bargainable to 1600) and Parwanoo/chandigarh to delhi is 1800/-

People who wanna travel from shimla to delhi often get cheated by the drivers of travel agencies.

This is what happened to us:
We wanted to catch a flight at 10:40 pm from delhi to Mumbai so we moved from shimla by around 12 and we reached parwanoo by around 4:30. the driver told us that the only fastest way to reach delhi airport was taxi .He claimed to have connections with taxi guys around and told us that he would book one for us for 2500. then later on after speaking to someone over the phone he told us that it would cost 3000. we agreed and went ahead with the deal. Now the other guy seemed to be a professional driver of a regular taxi service called Dolphin travels which only does pick up and drop from Chandigarh to delhi. Now this guys told us the truth. He told us that this trip actually costs 1800. and that the earlier driver who drove us from Shimla to parwanoo took 800 as his commission and he gave 400 to the current driver.

I tried calling my travel agent but he was not reachable, could be because of network problems. Later on I called my travel agent owner and told him this scenario. He was busy on other things as said that he would look in to this matter. After repeated follow up he dug the matter and found out the truth that the driver had cheated us. He called me up a few days ago and told me that the driver was removed out of his service and he reimbursed Rs 1000/- to my account for the loss incurred.

I appreciate his gesture but we all need to learn from this. Just adding up my experience so that you all read this and be more travel smart.

Always check if there is a number to call to confirm the rates.
these numbers are often marked at the windshield behind each car. Make sure eyou call the number and re-confirm the rates.
