best way from hyderabad to shimla by train

some one please help me out, i with my 6 friends are planning for a tour to himachal pradesh for 10 days (including journey) making through train...
let me know the best train route heading towards himachal pradesh and back to hyd(AP).
if possible also provide me the details(cost) for budjet hotels at shimla and manali....

waiting for a better answer........

Take either rajdhani or nizammudin exp from hbd. They will reach delhi early morning. From delhi take kalka shatabdi which starts at 7:15 and reach kalka by 12:00. From Kalka you can take a cab to Shimla.
Alternatively, take any train from hbd which reaches delhi in the afternoon, and take Kalka mail at night from old delhi rly stn which will reach kalka at around 5:00 in the morning from Kalka you can take the heritage toy train to Shimla.
You can work out something similar for coming back. You can even choose to reach delhi in the morning go around Delhi that day and take the night Kalka mail. There are many options.

No direct trains from Hyderabad.

You need to take a train to Kalka from wherever (in your case HYB/SC) to KLK (Kalka station code) and then to SML (Shimla station code).

Please note that 241 Shivalik Deluxe is a tourist special train and it is connected with 2311 Howrah Delhi Kalka Mail. Trn# 2311 leaves DLI at around 9:30 PM and reaches Kalka next day around 4:30 AM. Shivalik's scheduled time is 5:30 AM, though it waits for Kalka Mail in case 2311 is running late.

There is also a Rail Motor Car, but that runs till Sep-end I guess.

You have to take three breaks to reach Shimla from Hyderabad. In addition, none of the reains from Secunderabad/Hyderabad Deccan/Kacheguda goes to DLI (Delhi Jn station - old). All of them goes either to NZM (Nizamuddin) or NDLS (New Delhi). If you choose to take the Delhi Kalka mail, you need to consider the travel time between stations in Delhi while planning for train tickets.

The route possibilities are as below:

1. Hyderabad Deccan (HYB) to Delhi Jn. (DLI)
2. Delhi Jn. (DLI) to Kalka (KLK)
3. Kalka (KLK) to Shimla (SML)
