Beautiful Lake - Kanda

kanda Lake ::

Situated at approx. height of 11,000feet with a small natural lake next to the base of glaciers. Tried to do some basic search on Google but nothing much to get from it. I ultimately jumped in to find it for myself.

Lake is about 4 hours of steep, actually arduous climb takes you to get its first glimpse. The trek starts from Sangla crossing over the river with quite a prominent trek to follow. At this time of the year it was all deserted with not a single soul to find.

The weather has been playing with us all through our journey... experienced lotsa snow.

the second photo here is so nice! and thats the only reason i like delhi....or any city there....so close to the Himalayas..got a long weekend during work and wooooooooo.....there u go amidst the majestic Himalayas or at least close to them in the mountains!! wow!! nice pix max! keep them coming!

> there is a straight bus from Delhi to Sangla (HPTDC, but not a comfortable one). About 580kms

> then trek down from Sangla to Kanda which is bit difficult and depends on person to person how much easily you can manage.

> Trek is usually 4 hours climb but as I said it is arduous - Take your water bottles. You are climbing about 2500ft in about 4 hours.
