Back from High Back country roads of Himachal and spectacular Passes.
Hi,
I just got back to Delhi Today. I have had a pretty good experience of driving in the hills in my previous trips. I have evan Driven from Manali to Leh myself last year. This time i just went and drove through some of the most amazing back country roads in Himachal. Sainj Jalori -Banjaar was one of them. But i have to tell you all , the most beautiful place i have driven on is the road from Nagar to Jana......Man i've not seen a better road in my life.... I'll post some photographs .....and a detailed report in a couple of days. I'm just back from a straight drive from Manali to Delhi...10 hrs...and i need to rest... BTW On Monday Busses were plying from Manali to Leh. The road was officially open till 31st of Oct. Trafic was moving evan 1st week of Nov. I experienced a big snowstorm when i was at rohtang, and i thought after the kind of snowfall i saw at rohtang, the road would be closing any day now. Bye |

The best Road Ever i have driven on in the Himalayas.
It Goes from Nagar to a small village called Jana, 11 Kms from Nagar....
It's Simply Heaven. The Views of Beas Valley from the Road as it winds up through thick forests are SPECTACULAR. You can see the small fields of the Village Nashala which is 4 Kms, then drive on up and up to Jana. The road is a perfect Metalled Road... All these Photographs were taken using a Camera Phone Sony Erricson K750i. |

I was caught in a snow storm at Rohtang...
It was the first big snow fall of this winter. Here are the pictures, some taken before the Snow Storm, and the rest through the Snow Storm. All Photos were taken using a Camera Phone so please don't mind the quality. |

Pictures from Vashist
These Pictures were taken from the Balcony of Hotel Bhrigu and the rooftop Rano's Cafe in Vashist.
The Last 3 Pictures are from Lake Rewalser near Mandi. The Road from Mandi to revalser is also very picturesque...25 Kms of Road with very little trafic. |

Kaushik. 10 hours delhi-manali is not impossible though it seems little daunting for a Scorpio, considering delhi manali is 580 so averaging 58 with serious climb after sawarghat all the way to manali is bit stressing for the underpowered mahindra unless juha kankkunen is accepting driving assignments I wont feel safe sitting inside that roller
![]() Good pics styler I liked the one with empty chairs under the swirling clouds of snow and lone kachhar having fun there. |
