April 2008 - Need help planning Kinnaur, Spiti tour

you can do it this way
day-1 shimla sarahan
day 2 sarahan-sangla
day 3 sangla-chitkool-kalpa
day 4 kalpa
day 5 kalpa-shimla
this way it will not be hectic at all. you will have around 5 hrs driving each day.

day 5 kalpa-shimla - will take 10-12 hrs

ok.I will follow your advice Nayan.I have to join my new ICU by
1st May . May be i extend my trip to 6-7 days if i could not resist myself . How long was your trip ? what all places you stayed at night.keep in touch. thanks .

I think it will be 9-10 hours kalpa-shimla ( as you told) plus 9 hours shimla to delhi on day 5.so that will be ok i think if i start by 9 am from kalpa . i will reach by 4 am in the morning next day.

hi . it was really so nice..........

We started on 23 at 3.45 am . we reached sarahan on 23rd 7.30 pm. road was good. we had our brakfast at 7 am at ambala & lunch at shimla. we took HPTDC HOTEL "HOTEL SHRIKHAND". IT HAS 3 ROOM TYPE 800,1100, 1500.ROOMS ARE GOOD AND ALSO THE FOOD.IT ALSO HAS A BAR.THE VIEW FROM THE BALCONY WAS REALLY GOOD.

On 24th we went to the temple & then came back & check out for sangla at around 10. We reached kinnaur at around 1.00 (powari). we were confused & initially headed toward sangla then we planned to go directly kaza or atleast tabo as we had atleast 5 hours to drive so we drive to powari but then decided to start for kaza early in the morning next day so that we don get stucked on the way at night. we had our lunch . Then we went to sangla ,chitkul where we had tea & found the snow.we started back at around five & reached kalpa via recong peo at around 7.30.we took HPTDC hotel kinnaur kailash. THEY OFFER US FAMILY SUIT FOR RS.1500.IT WAS SUFFICIENT FOR US WITH TWO BEDROOMS.

How Are U Planning To Go. Selfdriving Or With A Driver. ? When /what Time Will You Start ? I Will Advice You Stay At Sarahan & Kalpa. You Can Drive To Sangla & Chitkul. There Wont Be Any Snow By Now On The Roadside But You Will Get The View Of Snow On The Hills .

Hi Nayan. Ya We Reached Safe & It Was Really Great . I Went With My Wife , My Mom & My Kid Of 5 Month,my Nephew & Niece. Road Was Little Bad After Powari But Drive Was Really Like Dream Coming True.its Untouched Natural Beauty In Spiti After Nako.& So Is The Kannaur.

Sorry for replying late, I had postponed my trip and now I am planning to start on 16 may night and come back by 21 may morning.
Can you please tell me your trip daywise.
24 - travelling to sangla.
25 -??

It will help me in cutting one day as I have only for days for the trip.
