Hi All, We a group of 5 friends are travelling to Manali from 15th to 19 th of April-2008.We are planning to stay in Apple View Guest House or Mannat Cottage .Please any one has prior experience with Apple view guest house please share. And also i would request any of the members help us plan our Itinary. We have a personal Tata Safari with us.And any additional suggestions are more than welcome. Thanx and Regards, Swabhiman Patnayak Mod Note Hi Patnayak, and welcome to IndiaMike. We suggest to all members that then not list personal email addresses in their posts, as these will be picked up by various search engines resulting in spam for the user concerned. Accordingly the email address in the post has been removed. Photos can be included as an attachment to posts - or alternatively uploaded to the IM photo gallery. Also it would help us if you could refrain from using txt language. This is an international forum and standard english is hard enough at times (without txt to make it more difficult). Thanks for your help with this. Last edited by brownboy66 : Apr 1st, 2008 at 17:20. Reason: removed email address |

Hello Mr. Patnayak,
One of my friend has visited the apple view orchid and rate it as nice one. But personally i have been to "Solang valley resort" and would safely recommend it to any person. Food, staff and package was really amazing and would suggest you to definetly give them a visit once in Manali. And yes do remember to take parts in adventure sports held in solang valley. However, for road route i would suggest you to take a look at www.mapmyindia.com. By the way safari will serve you very nicely. Cheers |

As far as budgeted accommodation is concerned i would suggest you reach manali bus stand and scout for the options available though the agents available. Though it will be a tidy project and will involve 1-2 hrs but will be fruitful for you for the next 2-3 days till you are staying in manali. you can also check for www.mouthshut.com, www.tripadvisor.com for stay suggestions. Cheers |

Swabhiman,
The Apple View GH is a walk of 1.5 km approx from the road, first up and then along a narrow path. If you want to be away from civilisation it's ideal, but not great if you want to move around. And obviously your car is a long way from you. Rising Moon PGH near the Old Manali bridge is not bad, Rs 150. More here. Sunshine GH is 1 km from the bazar and 300 m from Old Manali. It's decent as far as budget accom goes, Rs. 350. More in these threads: Place to stay in Manali? Also, Keylong? Sunshine Guest House Manali Manali Hotel Also check if John Banon's GH, a few hundred metres before Sunshine has reopened (I do NOT mean Banon Resort, that's a separate place). |

I haven't been all the way to Apple View, started walking after twilight but turned around as it became too dark without a torch. What I've read is it's basic but clean and comfortable. I don't think I'd be happy parking so far away, but that's just me.
At Rising Moon you can park close by (on the road). Sunshine have their own parking space (not enclosed). John Banon GH have enclosed parking space, but as I said you'll have to check whether it has reopened. IT was undergoing renovation last year. |

Hmm, if the email isn't working, I suppose the only option left is to call them:

Our stay at the Apple View Guest house was awesome.Simply overwhelmed by the hospitality and ambiance of the place. For Rs 200 i sincerely doubt one would get such clean and nice rooms. Please enjoy your stay in Appleview. If needed i can give you the contact number of the owner.
