any tips for Tibetan new year?

I'll be travelling to Dharamsala for Tibetan New Year 2006 with my 2 kids on our way north to Leh and wonder if anyone can tell me anywhere I could contact to stay before I arrive and how busy it's likely to be?

It will be extremely busy in Dharamsala at Losar, so you should book your hotel or guesthouse right away.

Also, I hope you don't think you'll be able to get to Leh from Dharamsala, overland, at that time of year. The road will be closed. You'll have to fly to Leh from Delhi or Chandigarh. And it'll also be really cold in Leh at that time of year.
