Ananda or Shimla and other advice....
Hi forum readers:
My honeymoon trip will be to India. I have three extra nights in Delhi and desire to spend those 3 nights in the Himalayas to do some hiking and see the beautiful mountains. We are trying to decide between Shimla (stay at a near top end hotel there), Ananda Spa or another spot. We want nice hotels and food but also to be in an area with good hiking and high in the mountains. The two problems are that (1) flying to Shimla/Ananda is risky with all the Jagson and or Air Deccon Airways problems and the train takes a very long time. Either way it might be worth it for three nights just to see the Himalayas. Any suggestions on other destinations that are closer to Delhi or better suggestions than Shimla/Ananda are greatly appreciated!!! Also considering Neemrana Fort-Palace. But this place doesn't seem to be high enough in the mountains for a true Himalayan experience. I will be travelling in mid-october. |

Ananda is not a honeymoon destination at all and Shimla is too crowded,Places close to delhi with high mountains, peace and forests would be in Kumaon like Binsar or Mukteshwar. In Himachal Manali is a better option but its too far. Rishabh |
