Wink A nice chilled place to stay in Nagar HP?????

Can anyone suggest a nice place to stay in Nagar HP...

I'd like a small place with out manic tourists, just mellow people.

I'm up for a place out of the village if possible, some where quiet shanti and bueatiful....

Please suggest....

The reputedly haunted Hotel Castle should be exciting enough !!

Apart from the above, you have the PWD and Forest Rest House, reservations for which can be done at the respective offices in the district headquarters, ie. at Kullu.

If you wish to stay at Kullu, then I strongly recommend Hotel Silver Moon, which is a bungalow with just six rooms converted into a hotel, just outside Kullu town above the Octroi barrier as you approach from Mandi side. You'll get all the peace and solitude you want, without "manic tourists" disturbing you !!

Yes, it is !

It has six rooms, two on the ground floor and four on the first. The tariff is Rs. 800, 900 and 1000, for two rooms each. Luxury tax additional at 10%.

During off-season, you can get a discount upto 50% on the room tariff. The luxury tax will be calculated on the original tariff.

There's a variety of places to stay in Naggar. The state run HPTDC Castle Hotel is the most expensive but nearby there are some other cheaper hotels.

Many of the locals rent out rooms in their houses on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. A friend of ours stayed up from the village among the pine forest and apple orchards about 20 minutes walk from the Castle. If you would like details then PM me.

Naggar is still a peaceful place to stay as the main road runs a few hundred feet below the village.

zzzehar,

The "Off Season" in Himachal is generally from July 1 to September 14; Nov. 16 to March 31. The X'Mas/New year period is an exception, where it becomes "peak season" at a few places, particularly Shimla.

Hotel Silver Moon, Kullu is located next to the toll barrier at Shastrinagar, just before Kullu town, as one approaches from Mandi. The tel. no. is (01902)22488.(Old one, may have changed!)

If you are based at Delhi, you can book for this hotel at HPTDC's Marketing Office at Chanderlok building, 36, Janpath.
