D.D.T.

India is the only country worldwide still manufacturing it! The powder form is likely to be DDT / DDE. However, there're other variants or closely related compounds such as Endosulfan that are also widely used in India. The name DDT has become generic in India over the years for any kind of insecticide.

I think it is what is commonly known as Gammaxene powder. What it exactly is chemically, or whether it is related to DDT, I don't have any clue.

Great! Roaches, mice, and now crabs....well thankfully I never ran into any crabs in hotel rooms in India.
