What kind of vaccination my kid needs?
Hi, I am going to Rishikesh on January, with my kid, she is 2 years old (2 years 9 months).
I really need to know what kind of vaccination she needs. Perhaps tuberculosis? Hepatitis A or B? Please I need advice. Best regards, |

Ask your doctor, preferably one specialized in travel (or tropical) health medicine (you may have clinics specialized in just that). You wouldn't seriously want to let it depend on what some total strangers on a random web board have to say, would you?

I'd see the doctor who knows your child's immunization history for a start. Then maybe a travel doctor. Some vaccines require multiple doses so you should make a visit to the doctor soon.

. . . As mentioned, you should be talking to your doctor about your travel vaccinations. Read these: USA Preparing for Trip to India. USA Immunizations for ages 0 - 6 |

The poster is from Chile though (itself having some tropical areas, you'd think). Advice will vary quite a bit depending on which country or even place you get it in; it's still better than asking some strangers with all their highly individual opinions that you don't know what they're based on.
Besides, even armed with such advice for whatever it may (very well not) be worth, you'll have to go to your doc or some clinic to get your shots. So why not start there to begin with. I'll bet you anything they have something as modern as a telephone, to make preliminary enquiries (dropping by to ask may sound outlandish to many these days, but don't forget it is in fact a very real possibility). Contrary to popular perception these days and maybe, not everything can be arranged on the web, you know. |

Some serious knowledge of pediatric medicine is a must. As above see a doctor. There are some limits on vaccinations for the very young. Be aware that dehydration during illness (and leading to weakness hence illness) is the major threat so know how to deal with it and have everything necessary..
