i am packing for my upcoming 6 month trip and am wondering if i can find certain things in india rather than bring them with me. specifically i need to be able to find: acidopholus, b-complex, black walnut and garlic pills. does anyone know if i will be able to find these readily available (and good quality) in delhi?

Shilijit

Shilijit contains many of the minerals your looking for and it's a great pick me up!!
Three capsules a day should suffice don't use this for more than a month though!!
Shilijit contains little in the way of vitamins so a multi vitamin is also required easy to get and cheap too!!
Women please talk to an aryuvedic doctor before using Shilijit there are some interesting side effects for women like more body hair

Acidophilus are the benificial bacterias in youghurt and curd. Good for -among other things - normalising the intestinal flora in connection with antibiotics. We use these for all patients where I work.Comes in dry form (capsules) .

garlic pills
Running low on my daily dose of garlic in India is something I haven`t realised I should worry about - until now.

Shiliit (great name!) is Bitumen ie pitch!
That doesn't sound like great stuff to be consuming!

In it's pure form thats exactly what looks like as well, you have to mix it with milk it's foul!!
Lucky there are capsules makes the whole process a lot more palatable!! And it's perfectly safe consult an aryuvedic practicioner if you have any doubts!!
Monkeys eat this in the Himalaya I think this may well be how it was discovered but I could be wrong.
I have used this and felt all the better for it but maybe a consultation would be a good idea!!!
Oh and read the instructions that come with the capsules important!!

shiliit and garlic

why can you only use shiliit for a month? what happens if you take it for longer?

i think i am going to go see an ayurvedic professional when i get to delhi to see what he/she thinks i should take.

does anyone know if lactobasilius is available there in pill form?

as for garlic- i take the non-smelly pills because when i eat garlic it really dehydrates me and bothers my sleep at night. but if i take the pills i am okay. perhaps i should be taking my own along...

More Vitamins

Hopefully by this time next year House of Health products www.houseofhealth.co.za will be available especially in the north of India as my wife and I are shifting over to start importing them and selling by network marketing, so the range of opportunities grow daily. Look out for House of Health India.

Thanks Cyberhippie, I'll add it to my list of things to try [at least] once What does happen if you take it for more than a month?

Harmony, my facourite heart surgeon (no, I haven't; but he gives unusual lectures...) says that it is the smelly bit in garlic that is really good for you, and taking it out spoils the effect. ...I just pass this on; I'm not arguing with you

I am fond of the ayurvedic stuff although I don't go down the heebie jeebie stuff. There at least is some research foundation. If all else fails try good diet as a means of preventing malaria..
