Vaccinations for 1 week?
Hey everybody,
If I am going to be staying in a 5 star hotel in Delhi for 1 week, will I need to get vaccinated before I go? If so, which ones? Thanks a lot |

One week in Dehli is pretty safe, although some travelers use less caution when eating in 5-star hotels and consequently get sick. I would make sure you are up-to-date on all of your usual adult vaccinations, such as tetanus and measles boosters.
In terms of special vaccines for India, a one time polio booster is recommended for adults, although this is probably a small risk. One vaccine that is definitely worth getting is Hepatitis A, as you will want that if you do any more traveling in developed countries. It is a series of 2 shots, but one will cover you for the trip and then you should later get a follow-up shot to provide long lasting protection. Here is the CDC web site for India travel health info, including vaccinations. http://www.cdc.gov/travel/indianrg.htm#vaccines |

you don;t "need" to ba vaccinated. You can if you want to.
. .You'll have to give most shots time to become effective -- a few weeks perhaps. Keep that in mind. |
