Vaccination Requirements for March to June

Hi, we are planning on first-time travel to India for 3-4 months backpacking starting from South mid Feb/March traveling to Goa, Kerala, parts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, maybe Anandra islands until mid April...then maybe couple weeks in Rajasthan, then up going up North in May & June to parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh - maybe Sikkim...We both don't have any last-decade update on any vaccinations beyond then of those from childhood (although we'll check, can't even recall the list). I've seen a long list of vaccinations for India though I understand specific requirements change per season & area...Considering these areas and timeframes, which ones are recommended? Thanks much for the advice.

The CDC website has some recommendations. Right now I don't know if there are any mandatory vaccinations.

There are no required vaccines, unless you will be coming from a Yellow Fever area.

But there are so many illnesses you can get in India for which there are no vaccines that you might consider getting the basics -- some of which might be "boosters" to injections you got in childhood.

You will want to do some research on anti-malaria medication, as well. I suggest you use the seach function of this site. There are many discussions of vaccinations and anti=malarials.

Andaman Islands? I would get get Hep A & B and Typhoid, Tetanus as a minimum. The rest are more a an issue of judgement..
