Travelan - Available in India?

Recently Fresa81 started a thread about Australian produced anti-diarrhoeal medicine. Responses to the thread suggested that Travelan may be one product.

Is Travelan available in India?
If so, which pharmacy in central Mumbai/Colaba is likely to stock it?

If Travelan is not available in India, is there another product available which does the same thing?

Only available in Australia, not yet in India

There is no preventative measure similar. I am hoping I can find an Australian going to Mumbai to bring me some. It can take a few weeks in customs in India just because of the inefficiency of that department. I need someone arriving in Mumbai by November 12. If they arrive on the 11th of November I will have my driver pick them up at the airport and take them to their hotel. I would have it shipped overnight from Travelan which is in Richmond Victoria If before I would ask that they drop it off at my hotel near the Gateway to India in Mumbai.

Go to any Asian supply store and get a packet of Po Chai pills, a small red box that contains 10 small bottles of pills.

"For the treatment of fever cold, diarrhoea, motion sickness, intoxication, vomiting, over-eating, stomach disorder and gastrointestinal diseases."

At the first signs of something not being right take a bottle of pills, this normally sorts everything out, if not take another. If things are really not good for you then the directions say to take 1-2 bottles once every 2 hours, 4 times daily. Most people that I know that have used them find one or two bottles are enough to sort things out.

The international sales manager for Travelan said

when I talked to him by phone, that the company has not sent any Travelan tablets to India for resale.

Po Chai Pills are better known as Curing Pill

when you go to an chinese pharmacy.

Curing or Curin pills can help with poor digestion and other ailments. The thing about Travelan is it is a vaccine type product that actually protects you against the bad "bugs". Curing pills may help after the fact to relieve symptons but does not cure. Taking some with each meal is a good idea when one is at risk.
