travel insurance

i've had a good look through the forums but can't see any recommendations for good travel insurers in the UK.

most companies seem to offer the same cover for the same price, but i really need to know which company performs well in the case of an emergency. i'm rather unlucky so will probably need to make a claim at some point

going to india for 14 weeks in january, i'm quite spontaneous (hence the trip) so will need covering for most things

I went online here and looked and couldn't beleive the difference between the prices! I think I'm going to go with an online only one - its recommended by LP and so on, I hope its OK... you never know I guess until you try!

I made a claim with WorldNomads (the LP company) - they were very good

Notice that most travel insurances cover up to 45 days, and you will be away for about 88 days. It took me quite some time finding one that covered us for the 80 days we were in India last year. Eventually, I came across this insurance company. I don't know if they are any good since we didn't make any claims.

I use Insureandgo as well. I have never claimed off them so dont know if they are any good. I have read some horror stories on the internet where people dont get the cash when they are claiming.Nearly 4 months in India works out out £53 if i go trough a cashback web page.

If you put this code in to Worldnomads " STPJMS ",when you are looking for a quote you get 5% off.Its not much off but the quotes are not as high as i have seen others charge
