Travel Insurance for trekking in india
Travel Insurance for trekking in india
Hi,
I will be travelling around India for 2 months during which I will be trekking for three days and white water rafting on one day. I've been looking for travel insurance, however most standard plans only cover trekking up to 2000 or 3000 meters, whereas the trek I will be taking will be up to 4000 meters.
When I get quotes for 2 months with an adventure travel insurer the cost is around £300. But from other insurers for standard (non-adventure) insurance its roughly £70.
My question is, can I buy two policies? One normal insurance (£70) for the 2 month duration, and one adventure one for the duration of 1 week?
Thanks

Hi
Top tip - join the british mountaineering club, and get travel insurance through them. Nobody else can give you the kind of excellent cover that they do. Check: http://www.thebmc.co.uk/ They have specific policies for trekking, and are experienced in the area if you do have any problems. they will even send you a helicopter
They are also one of the few insurers to cover you on a motorbike (above 100cc), if that's your thing. Most people's travel insurance would leave you in the lurch if you came off a 150cc scooter.
