hmmm...i think maybe u are a little misinformed...Not that i am a doctor or anything...But firstly...u should probably be taking the malaria pills in Goa...secondly..malaria pills will not bring on malaria..
Anyhow..i have travelled to India 4 times, including 2 times to Goa, once to Kerala, and once to Rajasthan...Was informed by Travel Doctor, that there is a risk of contracting malaria in all mentioned. So u shoulda looked into this a little closer b4 u left for India. But i guess it wouldn't hurt to start taking pills now...It is a slim chance that u will get malaria in Goa, although there have been recent cases. If u start taking them now..u will b good for the rest of your trip as long as u know the proper way of taking the pills.. Anyhow...hope this helps... ![]() |

I'm no doctor either,
but from what I know of malaria, and places in India that have it (seems like you could get it mostly anywhere), Goa might have been a good place to take meds. The pills do take some time to kick-in/be effective. I've traveled in India on five separate occasions, almost three years in country; on all but my first trip I have not taken any malaria meds (I spend most of my time in the Ganges Valley, from Rishikesh to Varanasi, with extended trips into Rajasthan and Dharamsala; traveling mostly in the fall/winter/spring, though did spend monsoon in Varanasi last year).
I am not recommending that you take or not take meds; that's your decision; but whatever your decision I again agree with Tracy, you shoulda done a little homework before getting there. Safe Travels. Scott

Suggest you stick to the viagra! Seriously, there is more than one kind of malaria, and different anti-malarials are recommended for different parts of the world. You need to discuss your travel plans with a professional.
