The sunblock I have seen here has been relatively low strength.
I haven't seen any with insect repellent (and suggest you buy separate anyway) I recommend you buy and try before travelling: I have experienced allergic reaction to sunblock (and I'm not an allergic person generally). A lot is going to depend where you are. All international brands? Yes, maybe there is a store in Delhi somewhere --- but not here in Chennai for instance.

I believe Avon is available worldwide. They do a factor 30 sun lotion with insect repellant and also aftersun with repellant. Both work too.

During my ladhak and spiti trip this summer I used a sun block cream from Jovees with 45 SPF. Well I used it abundantly but developed profuse sunburn. My travel mate who used only simple BOROLINE escaped sunburn altogether. So I assume a good sun cream alone cannot prevent sunburn, there is individual susceptibility towards developing sunburn.

I wonder if it really was a good sunblock?
I used to use SPF 50, and people would ask me if I'd been away! Umm yes, two weeks of tropical sunshine.... |
