I thought it was a myth
but found this article which says alcohol may help prevent food poisoning. Still don't think it would be wise to drink before EVERY meal.....you may not remember why you went to India I'll have to check this out further, meanwhile,http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniont...1c22factm.html ![]() |

I recently had the worse bout of food poisining I have ever had in 25 years of visiting and living in India and all because I couldn't resist a samosa.
Most days the boy brings us chai and this particular day the samosas smelled so good I had to have one - taken from his rather dirty shopping bag - I should have know better. Within a couple of hours I thought I was going to die and had to be treated by the doctor for almost a week - not just the usual symptoms but violent headaches, leg cramps and dis-orientation. Never again will I even look at a samosa!! |

Sorry to read your bad experience charlotte, hope you are on the mend & that it really doesn't put you off samosas for life.
You gotta take the all so often advice on IM, eat your snacks/chai freshly made from the street stall or wherever they are made & you wont go far wrong,,,,,,, |
