Hi Somnath...no offence meant. I thought you were serious about what you were saying...I think it's a pic of Garter Snakes? Well, Thamnophis elegans terrestris(Black Morph) to be exact... right? Good Pic! Where did you click it?
Anyways, Sorry if you felt otherwise. Chill. ![]() |

girlone, you'll probably never become a snake lover.. But, its within reach to be able to control your paranoia.
I don't like snakes either. I used to try to avoid them as much as I can -- crossing the street when I saw a snake charmer coming etc. I am much better now. What really helped me was -- touching a snake. I did not enjoy that. but, after that experience, suddenly snakes seemed more "human" to me. India might be the best place for you to get over your phobia. Take the opportunity to get close to a snake and even touch one. I think it will help.. |

funny, i have a small phobia (nowhere near as bad as yours) of cockroaches, and i am hoping that forced contact with them in india will help desensitize me to them. living in NYC apartments has helped a lot, with the little ones that actually live in the house. now it's just those huge flying ones that seek refuge inside...
i've gradually learned, growing up, that A) small creatures, scary as they might be, are more afraid of me than i am of them, and B) that what does not kill me makes me stronger. both cliches, i know, but both quite true. a roach, as big and icky as it might be, is not going to bite me or hurt me -- it's just GROSS! i guess i'll just pack some cans of Raid and hope for the best. |
