No one smokes in the Delhi Metro stations or trains. Its simply not done!

Major and semi major train stations and all trains... smoking is a no no, besides not allowed.
very minor train stations, one can usually get away with it.

train... with the door open and nobody around, yes, people sneak a smoke if alone. Other Passengers will often give you dirty looks if they see you.

In public: usually no problem, goangoan's experience notwithstanding.
