sinus pain when flying thread

I remember reading a thread which was really informative about sinus pain when flying. I've searched every page in this health forum as well as using the general forum search to no avail. I even found out the word eustachian tube (pain location) on google to help me narrow down the search, but no luck. Does anyone remember it or know where it is?

Thanks...only 11 days to go...

Lucky you were online,

That's the one Indiamike! I'm hopeless with keywords, I was typing variations with the words 'sinus', 'pain', 'flying' and then 'Eustachian tubes'.

I'm busy trying to locate all my favourite threads before I go next week, thanks!

Something that I use each time that I fly is Homoeopathic WELADA brand Berberis/Prunus Sinus Drops for hayfever and sinusitis, an oral liquid 30 mls.

Contains equal parts of Berberis fruit 3x, Prunus spinosa herb 3x, Quartz 20x in water/ethanol base.

I take about 10 drops about 30 minutes before landing and another 10 drops 15 minutes later and my sinuses are all clear and open, no ear pains, not sinus headaches, great stuff.

I used to suffer from sinus pain, I am completely cured by homeopathic medication. It is more than a decade now that I had any recurrence.

If you want to try something more orthodox, any over the counter nasal spray decongestant will work. The generic drug names are phenylephrine (lasts 4 hours) and oxymetazoline (lasts 12 hours). Definitely not homeopathic, but they work....

Usually pain is worst on the descent.

what helps me when flying.....while take-off and landing: have some water at hand and drink in little sips so the pressure in the ear can't build up.....works just fine !!!
