Yogagal.... I don't understand the Yellow Fever thing: I think that it isn't that there is a chance of catching it in India, but they don't want people developing the disease while here. Maybe.

When you get your shot, maybe better get a certificate that you've had it, just in case your Tanzania passport stamps cause you any problem on a subsequent India trip.

Talking Travel Vaccinations

With regards to Hepatitis A/B combinations, Sanofi-Aventis has recently allowed an accelerated schedule to be recommended invoving vaccinations at 0,7 and 21 days that will give supposed lifetime immunity (currently stated at 15 years)if a fourth booster is given at 12 months.

With regards to protection on the standard schedule (0,1 and 6 months, it is believed that there is approximately 95% conversion after the second booster - which will be adequate for a quick trip. If you do want to try and cost save you can always get the levels tested (don't know how much this would be in the USA)

Yellow fever vaccination is only needed if you are travelling from a country currently infected with yellow fever.
