Safe to Travel Solo?

Hi. I'll be flying into Delhi in the middle of the night and need to meet up with folks in Shimla. Is it safe for a woman to make this trip alone? What's the quickest/best way to get to Shimla from the airport in Delhi? Many thanks for any advice!

You mean Shimla to Delhi in the middle of the night? I would advice against that..A. you're not going to find any buses to shimla from the airport.Taxis too, dont be too sure.
B. Even if you do find a taxi to take u to shimla, it isnt safe at all for a lone woman.
If you stay the night over in Delhi, theres plenty of buses in the day.where obviously u wont be alone.

I would also recommend against casually taking a taxi from the airport.

I think your options are

Stay overnight at a hotel in Delhi, grab some hours sleep, and take a bus or train the following day.
or

Arrange with a travel agent to have a taxi waiting at the airport to take you to Shimla. http://www.namasteindiatours.com/ on this forum, has had many recommendations from our members.

Why don't you just fly. Take a Delhi - Shimla flight.

There might be other airlines available.
