Reliable/private doctor in Hampi?
Hi all,
Sorry to be back to this forum but experiencing 'eggy/nutty' burps today, an unsettled stomach and some other gas, but as of yet absolutely nothing else. I did eat fried eggs on toast for breakfast so praying to god it's just that repeating and not something serious.
But I've generally found that these are the symptoms that prelude a serious bout of chronic diarrhea and other nastiness, which usually ends in taking strong antibiotics. I'd rather self-medicate or seek advice here than from some of the 'doctors' I've encountered in India but obviously if there is a reliable doctor around I'd prefer to visit him or her. Any experiences?
Also, has anyone else experienced these symptoms? I'm really puzzled - I've had it twice in India before, but that was over two years ago and had absolutely nothing in between... Now I've been back in India for two months and looks like here I go again :/

Difficult to say and I'm not a doctor but the symptoms sound like the onset of giardia, very common in India. Can't help with the local dr recommendation, sorry. Standard treatment for giardia would be metronidazole, 500-750 mg three times/day for a week. Use at your own discretion/risk and read up on the side effects. Once again, I'm not an MD.
Good luck!
Good luck!
