Rabies

hello guys, advice please,!!

I have read a couple of threads on the japanese enceph..... but nothing on the rabies, do you think a six week trip to mumbai, rajastan and goa in november/dec will warrant rabies jab or the japanese one for that matter???

not japanese unlesss u are going to work in rice fields, rabies toss a coin, i went for a month and never had it but im going again for 10 weeks and ive had rabies this time.
Rabies is 3 jabs over 21-28 days depending where u live in uk it costs a lot £40 a jab in some clinics

I wouldn't worry about it
You're unlikely to mmet a rabid dog unless you're ina very remote unpopulated area and as long as you dont want to pet and touch wild monkeys then you'll be fine

never had either

Jap E is most prevalent mainly after the wet season coming from remote areas from rice fields , mainly depends when you travel when you are at most danger .... Remember that a rabies injection will not stop you from catching it. It just gives you a little extra time and less jabs to get when you get to a clinic..24-48hrs after and bite ...

I have never bothered with with either , even when in SEA , but it again depends on the individual. I will have to agree with Bryan ( not just as he is a fellow Scot) ...
