Rabies jabs

Do any of you know whether the rabies jabs are still done in the belly region? I had to have 14 of the shots when I was a kid in Zambia; one every day for 14 days and the memory is STILL vivid.

I must admit that I didn't know there was a once off rabies vaccine - I don't think we even have it here, and we do have a lot of rabies cases. Maybe we just can't afford it

Rabies Jabs

I had the rabies jabs in December for travel to India & southern Africa. There is a series of 3 jabs with a gap of 7 & 21 days between them. However, they are now only small jabs in the arm the same as most other innoculations - at least they are in the UK. Didn't cause any reactions.

Cheers

You will still need 2 jabs if you are bitten by a rabid animal, even if you have been vaccinated.
