I normally have contact lenses but as I considered to buy some glasses while in India I'm really glad about all the information here.
But I'm really not sure about the frame - do you think I should better buy one I like already here and only get the glasses in India (because of the range of "frame-variety" here)?

You get much cheaper contact lenses too!
Though I felt a bit cautious about it and bought just sunglasses with my power (about Rs 3000). |

I bought a pair of glasses from Optical Palace (Connaught Place but they also have a branch in Karol Bagh) a few days ago - very happy with them. About 1700 for frames, and anti-reflective lenses.
I would agree that they are more expensive than the Pahar Ganj opticians, but they also have a much better range of frames. I wasn`t able to find anything I really liked at the Pahar Ganj shops. |

I'm looking to get glasses again in India and wonder if anyone can reccomend a place in Mumbai or Mysore? Last time I went to "American Opticians" in Indore since my friends there all used the place and have been pleased with the results, but don't anyplace else in the whole country!

Contact lenses and fluids
As we no longer are allowed to bring fluids on BA flights (and bcause a lot of luggage is 'misplaces'on LHR) I wonder what brands of contact lenses and fluids are available in India and what would they cost.
