I may have missed the answer to this as this thread is becoming quite an epic! but...I don't really want 'whitening' (unless I need it) but as a frequent coffee and tea drinker and a ahem..smoker I have a few nicotine and caffeine marks on a few of my teeth.

At my local dentist you can have a 'polish' where they just polish your teeth up and remove the bulk of the stains. Is this available at your surgery?

If so...see you soon!

Brite Smile Whitening

Has anyone had the Brite Smile Whitening on this forum ? Any personal experiences with sensitive teeth after the treatment ?

I had it done about 4 years ago by my dentist. (Who is from the Punjab but trained here in the U.S.) I don't know what it was called but she made molds to fit my teeth and I put goop in every night for a couple of weeks. Worked very well. I did have pain from sensitivity and she gave me a high floride toothpaste to use and it helped. The whitening looked natural and lasted pretty well over the years; I recently used the do-it-yourself kind, you put on little plastic strips with the peroxide goop on it, for 2 weeks. It lightened them up a bit. I drink alot of coffee and tea and I'm over 60 and I don't want brown teeth--I've got enough things going on to make me look bad

BTW, I think those overly white teeth look ridiculous on everyone. Look like fake teeth to me. There's white and then there's YEOW is that person scary!

Hi Camelgirl,

Thank for sharing your experiences. Brite-Smile however is done by the dentist using an LED Arc light. They have Brite Smile centres in the US, in 1700 locations. The treatment you had is called home bleaching.

Thanks, I've heard of that but didn't know the difference. Does the Brite-smile weaken the teeth? Since I've already done the bleaching, it might be too much for my poor old teeth to take.

No, Brite Smile is the best in teeth whitening today. The whitening gel used has a neutral PH and has no ill effects on teeth at all. It can give you 8-12 shades whiter and the gurantee comes from Brite Smile itself, so if it doesnt work its money back. Should cost you around 600$ in the states and about 375$ in India for the same procedure.

Talking Appointments

Hi GoanDentist

Thanks for your input on IndiaMike - it makes very interesting reading!

I'm in Goa in just under 3 weeks time, staying just for 3 weeks. How easy will it be to get an appointment with you? I'd like to find out about having some fillings replaced and possibly tooth whitening. Would all be able to be done in the one visit?

many thanks
jane

Hi Goandentist

Can you please tell me the difference between the 'Brite Smile' and 'Zoom' whitening procedures?

I'm very keen to have my teeth whitened however I am a little sceptical as I've heard both good and bad reports on results

Many thanks

Brite Smile V/s Zoom... difficult comparison

Hi there,

I cant really compare Zoom and Brite Smile as they are equally good procedures. What I can say is that Brite Smile has the edge over Zoom , as the technology was developed by a NASA Scientist. Brite Smile also comes with a money back guarantee, 8-12 shades whiter or the company will refund your money. Mine is a Brite Smile Certified Affiliate Surgery and as far as I can tell you we have not had a single failure till date. The whitening gel having a neutral PH , rarely gives the patient post operative sensitivity.

I am not aware of any Zoom Affiliates in GOA, but there should be some in Bombay should you wanna try.

Regards
Dr. Ambert
