There are public toilets for men, at least they can pee anywhere... but for us, women... nothing. I try to go back to the hotel, wait for the toilet on the train, or find a little hidden place in the fields... Another solution I found in a city was getting in a hotel and asking for it. I had no problem.

Isn't life funny... This is the first time I'd ever heard of this; then just after I saw one for the first time. Some people call it synchronicity

Yesh, it is true that Chennai will smell a bit better after the next rain fall. Well, for a day or two at least

The funny part is that these people (Sulabh) presented an award ("Sulabh Global Sanitation Award") to WHO sometimes back!!

Usually it’s expected the other way around. The award included a few million rupees collected from the toilet business.

Sometimes back there was a program about them in BBC World. The title was ‘The smell of money’ or something like that. This was broadcasted under the Business Bizarre series (the documentaries on bizarre business in India.).

This organization has taken a large number of the scavengers to the biggest star hotel in Delhi. There was a grad party like thing organized. The idea was to show that no job is inferior and to infuse confidence in people. When asked about party Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak (the founder) responded ‘Why not?’

George Kostanza on "Seinfeld," when told of the toilet situation in India, said he would hold it the entire time he was there. How?

"I'll walk it off."

The heat means sweating more than usually, and sweating more than usual means peeing less than usual
