Probiotic side effects......
Grettings everyone,
I have been taking a strong daily dose (25billion bacterium) of Probiotics to help reduce the risk of food poising when I travel to India in a few months time. I've been on them for about 10days now and been feeling quite unusually tired. I was told by someone that the yeast in your gut gets realised when the good bacteria over comes the intestinal area. This yeast is toxic and can make one feel rather crap for a while. Is there any truth in this, have you noticed any such negitive side effects? |

Yes, the yeast should be overwhelmed by the good bacteria. Now - there's lots of dead yeast hanging out there. Maybe you need to do a detox/cleansing to slough it off!
I don't think Probiotix have any bad side effects themselves...and I had to take them for a long time, as I had severe candida (intestinal yeast) from years of antibiotic abuse at the hands of 'modern' docs. In case no one told you - stay off the sugar, honey, alcohol and wheat products - they all grow the yeast, like making wine!

It may be useful to investigate the effects of Candida Search Here as high yeast levels plus sugars are a bad mixture and the affects caused by Candida to the body are very debilitating. Here is a site that has some good info on Probiotics and Ph balance. |

Probiotics get discussed, among many other pertinent things in this thread here.
Have to admit that I thought it was OK to take them as a supplement ---but I got firmly put right in that thread.

I think I've succeeded in finding someone in as similar problem as myself! I have had a yeast infection earlier but since the symptoms subsided after my periods get over I didn't bother to probe into the matter. But after 3 months of those symptoms arising before periods and subsiding after, I got a bacterial infection UTI and have been put on antibiotics since 2 months now. I am fed up of taking antibiotics as once I discontinue using them after the full course the infection sets in just 48 hours following a severe yeast infection-candida. And I am looking for a good quality probiotic to treat the yeast infection. ARe you aware of Vibact? Is it really good? Thanks in advance Bella |
