What's man flu? (I don't need to be convinced of the helplessness of most of the male species when it comes to minor ailments, but I would like to hear your description of "man flu". )

Well from what I hear from my boyfriend its a life threatening( well you would think so judging by the moaning) Illness involving a mild temperature, and possibly cold like symptoms. Not sure really as I've never had it.

Lucyl

"mild temperature, and possibly cold like symptoms."

Honestly, this is very common and not serious. Maybe he is just Mommy's boy Needs attention and has not had these things when he is alone, especially in a foreign country. A couple of Paracetemol tablets will take care of it (check with doctor first).

Cheers

What's a chonie Bijapuri? I'm wondering if it's what I'm wearing? If OP doesn't reply I think this could be moved to Chai and Chat...I know ManFlu very well - Mr K gets it from time to time! To get better involves a lot of care and attention!!!!Can certainly relate to your post, Lucyl! The other life threatening
ailment is a muscle spasm - great pain and can provoke heart attack systems especially when it's in the leg... I'm not on advanced but would put a winking smilie at this point!

Thank you Lucyl ji and Aishah ji.

I was beginning to think that this is a disease that afflicts me alone. Glad to hear note that there are fellow sufferers in different parts of the world.

Ah. The conversation stopper. Childbearing pain.

I never know what to say to that.

Though being kicked in the unmentionables must come close.

you should repeat the man mantra....

"I have no opinion about that - I have not devoted any time or energy into forming an opinion about that - furthermore I reserve the right not to have an opinion about that - and you can't make me"!

but I see its too late! You've already ventured the opinion that child birth must only be as painful as getting kicked in the unmentionables......tsk tsk tsk.....

Mr K asked me what I was laughing about when I came to your post, Captain!! Now, Nick, I don't believe a word of it! LOL here..On a serious note, I could say in regard to pain comparisons, one is short and sharp and excruciating, and the other goes on and on and on and is also excruciating....(sort of keeping on topic re our medical opinions!)

BTW - still haven't found out what a chonie is...

once while in sri lanka i got [tropical ear] very painful
i went to the doctor and he poured a little hospital alchohol into my ear....it felt like very warm heaven
that was i believe sort of an external infection, although it was in my ear.
bottom line if your sick see a doctor

Hello guys, i'm back . I'm not sure where to start but to clear all the accused and doubts from all of you... well he is no mommy's boy. Reason being that he have to seek advise back home is because he is worry that there will be some negative side effect caused since he personally have to take some medication for long time. Actually i'm the one who wants him to go see the doctor, and i got drop dead worry after i call him and he told me that he felt really terrible. He got fever, flu and a very painful ear. Guess anybody will be worry if someone you loves are sick but you can't do much about it.

By the way, this is his second time visit India before heading to Nepal.
