Please Help!! Boyfriend very sick
Hello everyone, i really dont know what i can do besides asking help from people living in Darjeeling/India. On Wednesday my boyfriend took a jeep to Sikkim from Darjeeling, one day after the trip he had a terrible pain in the ear. Though he went to see a doctor, but it is not working though he took the medicine. He sound so weak when we talked in the phone. He told me he can't even wake up from the bed and walk. He havent been eating too. I'm really worry about him and wish there will be someone to help. Please anyone which is kind enough to help..

Suzie, sorry to hear this.
It is unlikely you will get a member here who is staying at Sikkim quickly, even if somebody is travelling there they may not know where to go for medical help. The best thing for your boyfriend to do is to get to a decent hospital or doctor as quickly as he can. He can get somebody from amongst people he is staying with/hotel staff to accompany him.. in fact, they should know which are the decent facilities closeby.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I did asked him to go see a decent doctor but he said he is too weak to walk now. I think place that he is staying is quite isolated and think the distance to a to a good hospital is pretty far. Thanks for the suggestion, i will try to talk to him again.

Hm. As the Capt. suggested, tell him to get to the nearest professional medical station. Really. There are taxis and stuff, hotels can help out...
It's a classic of course to not be very mobile in a situation like this. But no matter what, let him find some help. There's very good help in (parts of) India too. btw Do keep speaking to us, I'm no expert but some members here are very close to there. Do not give up, OK? I imagine Kolkata or even Siliguri would have something for you, am I wrong? Guwahati maybe?

Suzie, if you know your boyfriends exact location, you might wanna call the nearest hospital and call them to explain the issue. They might arrange some doc to visit them.

I just spoke to him. He is not in Darjeeling anymore. Now in Pellinlg, Sikkim staying in Hotel Garuda. He told me that he doesnt want to see any doctor, just need someone to bring him the medicine. He have spoke to his doctor back home, and he told him to take antibiotics. Do you think the doctor will allow that?

Um, sorry, we're not a medical forum.
None of us here are professionals I think. I seriously suggest you get your friend to speak to some local professionals and take it from there. They'll know a lot more about it than us, really. |

Suzie - I know that feeling well, not being able to get up off the bed to see the doctor. Seriously, if the doctor will not come to him he MUST go to the doctor. The people where he is staying can arrange this for him. If what he has is now more than 48 hours gone from when it first started it is absolutely necessary that he go to or have a doctor come to check him out. It is not good enough to send someone to bring antibiotics - there are many antibiotics that may not be effective against what he has. This happened to me one time here when I had rheumatic fever..Only a medical professional can tell what kind he ought to have. Antibiotics can be bought readily over the counter at a medical store, but you MUST know what type is needed.
I am really sorry for your distress, but do try to impress on him to seek professional advice.

re-reading your posts - you say he is too weak to walk. The hotel people should aid him and go with him if the doctor will not come. He should be taken in an autorickshaw or taxi - I hope this area is not so isolated that this isn't possible...The hotel folks should be able to help him.
