pharmaceutical companies experiments

is it true that the indian government is allowing international companies to use indian people as virtual lab rats, without the drugs having first been proven safe, on animal testing? i saw a documentery about the experiments on poor people who have ultimate faith in their doctors, to only do good by them, where the patients didn't even know that they had been used as guinea pigs. one man with a mental problem, twice! he had been told that the other drugs he normally took were unavailable. the doco also pointed out that the hospital or doctor recieved money or gifts for their compliance. the mind boggles!!!!!
at the time of the making of the documentery, i think the drugs had first been tested on animals (or said to be) but i read later that the indian govt had taken out the animal testing prerequisite.

Yes and I've heard that the ones with really "bad reactions" are reintegrated back into Indian society starting in Agra as touts.

Sorry couldn't resist - I hope that this is just a "crazy dog story" and simply not true.

sad to see it dismissed so lightly by the members here. if you research it you might also see that it is predictad that this "outsourcing" of pharmaceutical experimentation to india is going to be huge business!

Haha. Gold.

The Constant Gardener is a great movie. As far as I know, all human involvement being used as "lab rats" in the west, is voluntary, but I can't speak for the whole world. If you have a link to any videos/documentaries on this, I'd be interested.

I believe prison inmates are a favorite target in some places. Seeing ads here offering (quite decent) money to be a guinea pig raises one's eyebrows sometimes about the "voluntariness" of it all -- but I guess technically, yeh.

That is absolutely not correct at all. In the Tuskegee Study, those black men did not know their "medical treatment" was a syphilis experiment. And the soldiers did not know anything about the LSD was being administered to them.

For your information, the government has done germ warfare experiments on the populations of certain American cities for years.

So where do you get your information that ALL human involvement in the west is voluntary?

Excellent link

http://www.whale.to/b/exp45.html

You can add a few other countries based on this link alone... Canada and UK at least.

For many countries, including I suspect India, much information may be hidden.

Like I said, it is widespread.
