Mosquitos and Water tablets
Mosquitos and Water tablets
We will be staying at 3 to 5 star hotels so are mosquito nets a must? I will be bringing one to use at my husbands parents house but don't know if I should lug it around with me when we leave. What do I look for size wise? What kind of stores in Ohio may sell this or do I need to book on the internet? Where to find bug spray that everyone talks about? I'm thinking "OFF" is not going to work there.
Water tablets???? I don't even know what these are and what do I do with them? Where do I find them?
HELP!

1) you may not need a net, but sleep with the fan on -- the mosquitos can't land in a breeze.
2) If you do want a net, try a camping or fishing store, where you will also find water purification tablets. Or you can use liquid iodine -- 3 drops per liter and let it stand for half an hour. That will kill any waterborne diseases. (Get a parasite test from your MD when you return, however -- just to make certain -- even if you are not sick in India).
3) I take Cutter's with me for mosquito repellant. In fishing stores, you can often find this in STICK form -- takes up less room than a spray can and isn't as wasteful.

Coils
I go everywhere with mozzie coils and they work. You can break off bits or burn a whole one, just don't sleep to close to them or you will get a sore throat. One box can last a long time just watch out they don't get smashed up. At the better hotels you can you plug in tablets that kill mozzies. I also use Australian citronella spray for travelling and that works well but needs to be reapplied quite often. Lots of mozzies in S India[FONT=arial][COLOR=blue]
