Monsoon diseases - prevention is better than cure

I am also grateful for the information. To me the most scary disease is Malaria which, if I am well informed, is extremely widespread in India (70% of all Malaria in the South Asian region). for that reason I'd always get a chemoprophylaxis before traveling there.
Malaria is a tropical disease. 70% might be right (I don't know). However, I'm sure it looks much more scary than the real facts

See? Most of India is "low to mid" risk.
But, if you say that none of it is zero-risk, except up in the mountains, I'd have to agree.
Mind you, I don't think Malaria is the most scary disease...

Totally agree with this! There are a lot of preventions we can do to avoid diseases. This does not apply to monsoon diseases but to other situations as well where extra care is needed.
