I just took my 2 year old son to the pediatrician here in Mumbai today and asked her about the milk here.
She said to definitely boil the milk the milk that comes in plastic packets even though it says it is pasteurized (something I wish I had known earlier...:S )because it can be diluted and /or contaminated. She recomended that we use Tetrapack milk because it is safe. I am curious, did the Dr. tell you to avoid milk altogether or just if your kids get sick? My pediatrician back in the US said to avoid dairy if my son was already sick and said to give him soy milk. You can buy western brands of Soy milk here like Silk and I have seen small tetrapack boxes which make it easier if you are travelling around... maybe that is an option for them too. |
