Hi rosieglo I'm afraid I took mine with me, so not a huge amount of help for you. You can probably get just about anything in the big cities but not so in smaller places, you may also need to see a doctor to get them (not sure about that for imigran). I never met any local people there who used imigran. The only word of warning I have is that I have had some trouble with the effect of medicines bought in india over the counter and often had trouble finding exactly what i needed. In some cases the dosage seems to be the same but they have had little effect (as in the case of some antibiotics). If you have a migraine the last thing your gonna want to discover is that the stuff isn't working. If you take imigran it probably means you don't want to be in a position where you can't get it. I was also unable to get mersyndol - (analgesic for my migraines) and had trouble getting asprin in some small towns (paracetamol abounds but is useless for my migraines) so whatever you hear I would at least take a basic supply to get you through if you can't get it. Sorry can't be more helpful. Padma

looks like Ranbaxy in India makes it and that they have FDA approval to market the same in the USA. NO details about price, but I am willing to bet it is much much cheaper.

| Senior Member | hi, this drug should be available in India, although might be a different brand name..... however, you can try Delhi's Khan Market; you can find almost every international brand of medicines here (imported illegally and/or legally).....just have to pay an extra bit and u'll find the anything (read medicine) you want there.

Thanks thats useful. Looks like Ranbaxy will make them in the future but not yet. I think at present there is only one company with the license to make them. I will have to try and take enough but my doctor seems reluctant to prescribe sufficient for me to take because they are expensive and as I need a prescription over here to get them it leaves me abit stuck.

I'm interested in whether or not I'll be able to pick up zolmitriptan - my doctor in England will only prescribe me 6 at a time due to costs and whilst my migraines are few and far between I usually have to be bed bound for 3-4 days

Years back I used to suffer from migraine & took all sorts of medicines. once a wise man told me to write down what all I did, ate, how many hours I had slept and all these details when ever I had an attack. I did this for a couple of months. What emerged was that I had an attack when ever I did not sleep for sufficient time or ate a late lunch or drank cocktails at dinner & did'nt drink enough water. I have stopped all these & touch wood I dont suffer any more. Hope it helps.

A friend of mine followed the same advice. For months she could see no correlation until she realised that it was combinations of food. Eating chocolate and orange on gthe same day will guarantee an attack.
