Medical Insurance
Does anyone know of a good medical insurance provider that covers for a full year and does not exlude pre-existing conditions such as Asthma.

They will probably cover you for everything except treatment for your asthma.
Insurance is just like betting. Insurance companies take a bet that something won't happen, and, if it does, they pay out. Something that is and will happen doesn't fit this business model, at least not without a proportionally large premium

One is as good as the other frankly, i am yet to hear of any which is the 'best' so to speak... its one of the easiest things to get and you can try TATA AIG, Royalsundaram, Reliance... my only advise would be to keep ICICI as one of the last options.

Call me old fashioned, but I prefer the Public Sector insurance companies. National Insurance, United India etc. Longer track record, and slow but steady.
The private sector seems to be more interested in selling than after sales stuff. In the case of insurance, the after sales stuff is the main thing. And what if they pack up? Insurance is a long term association. I wouldn't want to try to get new medical/health coverage in my old age, which seems to be here already ![]()

That is the impression I have gained too. I get fed up with these yongsters who just want a signature on their piece of paper and your name on their returns.
So, Captain: you're old-fashioned! And right ![]() |

It always is an all india applicable deal... you get access to cashless transactions/hospitalization etc all across India which are part of the network if its part of your policy that is but this is standard in most health/medical polocies.
I also like the fact that there are more 'specialized' companies coming into this... my office gives me a cover from one of them and it even takes care of day to day chemist bills..i cant remember the name but like this one i wont put down 3 names because i really dont see anyone standing out in the front but i have heard reasonably good things about Royal Sundram and ill try and get the name of the company where i am covered from....maybe one of the public sector ones as well.. just dont try ICIC , Link - just go here, put down your details.... |
