malarone in Dubai?

Hi i know this sounds funny but has anyone bought malarone in dubai before traveling to india??
I know there is a lot of threads about malaria but i am looking into the diffrent tablets as we are traveling to southeast asia after India and the price of this drug is too dear in the uk.
And i do know you can get other antimalarials in india cheap but my girlfriend is prone to some of the side effects of the other
drugs.

Changing the name of your thread slightly...

There are so many threads on antimalarials, better to narrow it down then you might get an answer

Don't have a direct answer & might be better put on a middle east forum. However, here is a local place to check with..

I can't answer about Dubai unfortunately, but the cheapest I've found Malarone so far in the UK is £1.99 per tablet, which is a fair bit cheaper than most travel clinics do it.

You will need a prescription though to buy it anywhere in the UK.

I believe you normally only need to take Malarone for a couple of days before entering a risk area, and for 7 days after leaving, so you need fewer tablets than you might with other anti-malarials, which helps offset the cost a little.
