malaria tablets

Hi all,
Basically don't know whether to take Malaria tablets on my 7 weeks in India .Leaving in November. The plan is Mumbai to Varansai then on to Nepal back to Agra and and down to Mumbai..Heard lots of side effect can occur and just wondering do the seasoned travellers recommend we take them or not,.

Even seasoned travellers can't make this decision for you Rena. The facts are out there for all to see and there are pros and cons on both sides of the argument. Read the info and make a decision and have a word with your local doctor that is the best advice you're going to get, so have a chat with him!!
Seven weeks isn't a great deal of time to be taking anti malarials, bear that in mind when making your decision. The side effects are minimal for most people and any damage inherent in using antimalarials shouldn't be a problem for such a short period.
As I say talk it over with a doctor, seasoned travellers aren't always the best people for advice in this area!!
