Malaria tablets in Goa

Hello everyone. I know there are lots of threads on Malaria tablets and I have read them and covered lots of my questions. But what I would like to ask is more of a money saving question.

I have heard of the bad side effects with some of the tablets and although this hasn't put me off taking them, it has put me off buying my full 3 months supply in advance. What if I can't handle them and have to switch brands? A lot of money wasted I think.

So is it best to buy maybe 2 / 3 weeks supply and then if I feel ok with them buy the rest in India? I'll be going to Goa for the full 3 months, and maybe taking day / night trips to Delhi and other sightseeing places if I get bored!

Also, has anyone bought the tablets from online companies? I'm worried if I do this that I can't be sure of what I'm getting :s

Thankyou in advance!

Hi,

I think instead of buying it for whole three months buy it for 2-3 weeks and if you feel comfortable then go for the rest. But why are you so worried about malaria here. Are you suffering from it or you are anticipating you will get it here?

anywy happy travelling.
Regards

"Here" is far too big a word, if you mean India as a whole.

Goa is rated higher-risk by the UK health authorities. As a person living in India, who does not usually take any anti-malarial, I would do so for a visit to Goa, and I would do so for the whole of my stay there.

Erm...I'm worried about catching it? I've been told and researched that Goa is a risk area, and rather safe then sorry!
