Malaria risk in Kerala
Hi!
In November I'm off to India, travelling for two weeks in the north (Delhi, Varanasi, Jaipur, Jaisalmer) Then flying south for two weeks, starting at Kerala, then up to Goa for a few days then on to Mumbai to fly home. I have been told by my GP that I need to take Chloroquine + Proguanil weekly/daily tablet. My question is, are anti-malarials reccommended for Kerala? I believe the only area of higher risk I will be visiting is Goa, where I will be for about 4 days. In the other areas, are preventative measures sufficient? I have a mosquito net and will be using a DEET spray, for use everywhere in India. Thanks! Tom. |
