I've taken Malarone on two trips to Southeast Asia with no ill effects. Its only drawback, compared with Lariam, is that you have to take it daily. Lariam is a weekly tablet. (Both also require pre- and post-trip doses.)
Unlike some others, I've had no side effects with Lariam -- aside from unusually vivid dreams (not nightmares) -- and I've taken Lariam on seven occasions: to Africa (2x), South America (4x), and India. |

No, I just browsed it --- but I would read it all if I was visiting and planning on taking anti-malarials.
The thing about this document is that it is aimed at professionals giving advice to the public --- so it is closer to the horse's mouth. It was a post from Shaktipalooza that introduced me to this one. A Brit introduced to the UK formal advice source by an American!
