Larium Anyone?

I was given 14 tabs of this by mistake. What I paid was refunded, but the pharmacy can't take them back. I am uncomfortable as a rule with sharing scripts, but a bit cheap as well and would hate to throw them away if someone could use them.

If you're in the SF Bay Area I can meet you, or I can ship them. Just let me know.

Cheers!

SFtoBLR - if you do still have the tabs. I hope there is some literature along with them re use of the medication, warnings etc. which you normally get with this kind of tablet. Lariam is a very strong drug, it can be used as a malarial prophylactic or a treatment, but is not to be taken lightly. One should check with own doctor re its use.
A few years back I was diagnosed with falciparum malaria and the treatment prescribed was with larium - taken rather massively. Three tablets first time (I don't recollect the dosage of each tab.) and 8 hours later another two. I took them at 3p.m. and 11p.m. The next morning I was thoroughly nauseated and could barely get my head off the pillow. I felt like I was dying, not from the malaria but the treatment. I could barely make it to the bathroom because my ear balances were so knocked out I couldn't walk straight, and this exacerbated the nausea. In the afternoon the doctor came and gave me an injection so I felt less nauseous. I spent 3 days in bed, barely moving my head. It took nearly 10 days for my ear balances to become almost back to normal - I still think now there has been slight damage to them, and my former excellent sense of balance is now not as good.
At the time, Malarone was only recently coming into play - had I needed the treatment a couple of weeks later I think that would have been prescribed, because of less side effects. I was lucky in that I did not suffer the psychotic episodes which could have happened as another side effect.
If tablets are to be passed on, please also pass on information about them or let the receiver know to find out about them. This would be the responsible thing to do.

I don't think anyone should take this stuff without consulting a doc first, and doing their own independent research.

Once they have taken the decision, though, where they source it is entirely their business

However, in the world's likely most litigious state giving it away is certainly more than a private issue as Dzi would point out especially if you live in Sueme Friend city. Even with a signed liability waiver lawsuits occur. In a case like this I would recommend negotiating to settle for about 20,000 to 25,000 USD and have done just that. It will cost about 30,000 plus to defend with no easy prediction of results. As California goes so goes the world, Kaliyug..

Well, I wish them a jolly time in court together --- or whatever.

Thankfully, this forum is not about American law, or its place in Hindu philosophy.
