Jet lag

Just bought my ticket! Eeek! Scared and excited. Leaving March 11th....

I was wondering if any of you fine folk had some advice for overcoming jet lag? Normally, I just let the body get used to things naturally, but this time I am going for a language course and have only 2 days to get sharp.

I saw adverts for a homeopathic product called, imaginatively enough, No-Jet-Lag. Anybody ever tried that? I know the usual advice for keeping hydrated and so forth, but would like an extra boost.

Thanks!

Hi Kiki - let's see . . . no caffeine . . . no alcohol . . . get up and stretch a lot . . . try to stay regular with sleep . . . I've always found that flying TO Asia was less difficult than flying back FROM Asia . . . though maybe that has something to do with just coming home.
Scared and excited - that's how it should be! Have a Great Trip. Peace. Namaste. Scott

As above, no alcohol and no caffeine will help.
Try to get into the normal sleeping pattern for your destination before you get there maybe? I did that by accident when I went to Europe last and it worked like a charm. (going from Australia -> UK this is no small feat..)

if your flight arrives in the evening, you should be OK, if not, try to stay up till something approaching evening.

For the first time in many many years I am arriving in mid-day, and none too happy about it. maybe we'll book seats on the back of the plane, and wait hours in customs :0

jet-lag

I agree with the others..........BUT drink loads of water as your body dehydrates whilst you are flying.

I flew from NZ to London with one stop-over. 34 hours flying time and I had no jet-lag.

Don't drink alcohol, drink loads of water and sleep as much as you can (and in patten if you can). Stretch and walk around when you can to get the blood circulation going.

Have a great flight and trip!

Thanks for all these kind replies and good wishes! My flight arrives 5:45pm. I'm taking that non-stop Air Canada flight from Toronto to Delhi.

Glad to hear that flying TO is easier. Was wondering about that. I've been flying from Cleveland to France off and on for the past 13 years and always find I'm much worse when I get to France than when I come home.

In addition to the good advice offered here and elsewhere, I'm going to try this homeopathic drug. It's only around 10 bucks, so if it's a dud, I've not lost too much. I'll let y'all know how it works.

Sun Sun Sun is the key. Get in it as soon as possible when you arrive. It helps reset your body clock.
