So should I wear a special bracelet saying that I hate the stuff and please use a different fizzy drink?

This rat urine in Coke cans is an urban legend I believe.

I have been having a Diet Coke a day (canned) since one year. All I know is that I never died of it .

A friend of my father's workmate died of this very thing in Singapore it's called Weil's disease and the doctors reckoned it was from and infected can!!

Weil's disease is a very real problem and if contracted I'm under the impression it can be fatal!!

The story probably is probably somewhat embellished but apparently you can get Weil's disease from the urine of a sick animal!! Rats urine isn't in itself dangerous but from an infected animal it can be!!

That it was a coke can is neither here nor there, any can could become infected if stored where rodents are present!!

Here's a link
Obviously this isn't a hugely prevelant disease but it does happen and is not exclusive to any particular country, it's world wide!!

You can catch Weil's disease from swimming in lakes and rivers that rats use. You have to ingest the water, of course.

Fascinating advice! Would you suggest administering coke instead of the largely discredited and unproven Heimlich Maneuver (http://www.heimlichinstitute.org/howtodo.html)? My aunt saw it used in a restaurant once, but I told her it was dangerous.

Ridicurous ! (for those Seinfeld friends) or not......I read in the Times of India, in the last couple of days, that the Govt of India is looking into banning all colas....because the main ingridient of the drinks is sugar and is contributing to obesity in children....

Not so untrue...CDC says the same, thru the US Dept of Human and Health Nutrition Guide

Now to search for the links.......
