Insurance- US and Indian?

Am moving to Pune for 2 years, have no US based insurance. Am contemplating both emergency coverage internationally and then getting a policy through ICICI or one similar. Advice on a provider?

What sort of insurance did you have in mind? Medical? need2know, BlueCross has no arrangement with any hospital in Pune.

AAA has medical-travel insurance; maybe you want to start there.

Thanks, I will look into their services. I understand Pune has some excellent hospitals, I just want to be strategic in the event that I am hit by a bus or fall suddenly ill. You know.

Many us insurance carriers will reimburse you for medical costs that you incurred out of the country if:

1. The type of condition and treatment provided is covered by their plan

2. the rates charged are less than or equal to ewhat they would have paid a US providers

3. They don't suspect fraud

Keep in mind, you will have to pay the care provider and then seek reimbursement.
